“Bridgerton” renewed for a second season at Netflix – Deadline

Bridgerton Fans can expect some “exciting news” later this week, according to Netflix.

Shondaland’s hit drama is expected to renew any day after the breakout success of its first season and the channel used its most recent quarterly financial results to excite viewers.

“This title has proven hugely popular and we will have some exciting news about it Bridgerton Later this week, it indicated in its fourth quarterly shareholder letter.

This comes after Netflix reveal That period drama, which debuted on December 25, was on its way to being watched by 63 million households over its first 28 days – making it the fifth-largest release of the original series.

The show follows eight close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family who search for love and happiness in London’s high society.

Starring Phoebe Denifor as Daphne Bridgerton and Reg Jane Page as Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett, the series is based on Julia Quinn’s novels set in the world of Regency London.

There are eight books in the Quinn series, and director and director Chris Van Dawson has said that while the first season was about Duffy’s love story with Simon, he would like to tell stories to all of the Bridgerton siblings – including four sons Anthony, Benedict, Colin and Gregory and three other daughters.
